Technical details for the Zerno Z1 (64mm flat burr grinder).
What kind of motor is installed on my Z1?
| Motor | Custom 300W brushed motor |
| Voltage | 100-120V or 220-240V (built for one range of voltage; check the label on your grinder's backplate) |
| Speed | 900 RPM |
How long will my Z1 motor last?
A very long time. The parts in the Z1 drive that wear with use are rated for thousands of hours of grinding:
| Motor brushes | 5,000 hours |
| Main capacitors | 12,000 hours |
| Gearbox | 20,000 hours |
The motor itself is rated for 5,000 hours. If you grind coffee for 30 seconds every day, that is over 1,000 years of use. So we think you are covered!
If we are still around then, or if you move to a country with a different voltage, we would be happy to send you a replacement motor with a new power cord for $250 plus shipping. The motor swap can be done at home with the included tools in less than 30 minutes. See Using Your Z1 in Another Country (Voltage), or email info@zerno.co to order one.
