When to recalibrate
Recalibrate your Z2 if the RPM knob does not change the speed, the grinder seems stuck at one speed, there is a slight vibration, you hear an odd clicking noise from the motor, or after you have reassembled the grinder or replaced a board.
Recalibration gives the motor controller accurate position data so it can run smoothly. It is not the same as setting the zero point. Recalibration has nothing to do with your grind dial (see Setting the Zero Point on Your Z2 for that).

Before you start
Your Z2 must be fully assembled, with the front assembly, burrs, funnel, and chute installed. The motor calibrates against its normal load, and recalibration will not complete on a partly assembled grinder.
Steps
- Unplug the grinder and set the RPM knob to 200.
- Wait 1 minute for the electronics to discharge.
- Hold the power switch down, and while holding it, plug the grinder in.
- Keep holding the switch and turn the RPM knob up to 2000.
- Release the switch.
Follow along with the video above to see the exact timing.
Still not working?
Try one more recalibration, following the video closely. If these steps do not work, please contact support at info@zerno.co with a short video.
