Check the basics
Make sure the power cord is seated in both the grinder and the wall, try a different outlet, and make sure the switch is fully in the ON position.
Most likely cause: a blown fuse
If the burrs were touching when the grinder was switched on, the internal fuse blows on purpose to protect the electronics. It is an easy fix, and a spare fuse is in your service kit.
Video:
Do not open the grinder while it is plugged in.
- Unplug the grinder.
- Remove the two 3mm screws on the back of the grinder and slide off the rear housing.
- Replace the fuse on the motor circuit board with the spare from your service kit (5A 250VAC time-delay).
- Reassemble the rear housing.
- Before plugging back in, turn the dial coarser so the burrs are no longer touching.
- Plug in, turn on, and rezero (see Setting the Zero Point on Your Z1).
Would like more fuses?
You can find Z1 fuses here (Littelfuse TR5 part 37215000411, a 5A 250VAC time-lag fuse).
Still will not turn on?
